EGGS,VEGGIES,AND VITAMIN-E
Toss three eggs to a vegetable salad to boost three to five fold of vitamin E absorption from the vegetables.
Vitamin E an antioxidant and anti inflammatory agent is one of the rare vitamin supply to our body.As because of the fear of cholesterol many people are avoiding to eat high fatty foods and thereby avoiding the supply of this highly fat soluble vitamin.
But a newer study has interestingly proved that adding three eggs to a cup of low fatty foods such as vegetables which contains high vitamin E content can boost three to five fold supply of vitamin E to our body.
" Jung Eun Kim,a post doctoral researcher in Purdue's Department of Nutrition Science said,'We found Vitamin E absorption was 4 to 7 fold higher when three whole eggs were added to a salad. This study is novel because we measured the absorption of vitamin E from real foods, rather than supplements which contain mega dose amounts of vitamin E"
Vitamin E is a fat soluble vitamin body can absorb it along with fatty foods is present in oil, seeds and nuts.
Eggs which is a high nutrient food contains essential amino acids, unsaturated fatty acids, and B-vitamins.Eggs also contain a small amount of vitamin E.This study accounted for how much total vitamin E was absorbed when vitamin E containing foods were co consumed with whole eggs.
This research helps to find a technique to increase the absorption of vitamin E present in foods which contain low dietary fat,but rich in vitamin E.
